Olympic Team USA Gets To The Point

On the Road to Rio, the US Women’s Rugby team understands more than anyone the importance of building a healthy team, both mentally and physically. The women leave for Rio de Janeiro in the coming weeks to compete in the 2016 Olympics and will be the first women’s rugby team to ever take the field for the United States on this platform. The team, that resides just south of San Diego in Chula Vista, made a trip up to The Point to get “out of office”  and mix-up their daily training regimen with a half day of team building activities.

After a morning of hard training, the ladies came in to rest their legs and activate their minds. They made their way through four stations and were tasked with building the “best version” of each activity they could; for example one task was to draw the best park you can imagine.

The Point leadership team tied each of their activities together, showing that all the individual hard work they had done when combined presented a more powerful masterpiece.   Continuing   with our example, when we combined the pictures of the four indicvidual parks it made one huge amazing park. As Aristotle says, “The whole is greater than the sum of it’s parts!”

Then it was out to the bay for some much needed play time. No tasks, no work, just fun in the sun thanks to our neighbors at the Mission Bay Sport Center .

Big thank you to Juice Wave, a local business that came by with their fresh cold press juice to keep the energy high.

We wish Team USA the best of luck on their first trip to the Olympics and welcome them back anytime!
